Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Honorary Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of children's memory as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has advised numerous administrations and agencies across the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims by the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of many professional organizations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
